Annual General Meeting 2021

The PTA will be hosting its AGM via Zoom this year, on Tuesday 16th March at 7pm. This year two of the committee members are stepping down from their posts as Chair and Treasurer, and it’s vital that the posts are filled so that the PTA can continue with its status as a charitable organisation. Over the last three years the PTA has raised more than £8000 for the school, and this has been used to pay for:

  • funding an additional teaching assistant;
  • IT equipment (including 30 chrome books);
  • reading books;outdoor equipment;
  • cooking equipment.

The AGM is an important part of the PTA’s calendar and is normally held in January, but has been held back this year until pupils returned to face to face schooling. If you have any items you would like to see discussed at the AGM, please use the contact form link above. It is expected that the meeting will run for approximately 40 minutes. Fundraising Update

In August we started the campaign to raise £10,000 over the coming school year. So far we have raised just over £3000! This is made up of around £750 from fundraising events, £2000 in donations from individuals both through the crowdfunding and directly, and £250 which we will be able to claim in gift aid now that we have registered as a charity!

We have also raised funds through the new School Lottery and Easy Fundraising which will be transferred to us quarterly.

This is a fantastic amount to have raised in a single term. The PTA would like to thank everyone who has supported the campaign in any way so far; it seemed like an ambitious target but we’re well on the way and the school will be able to make good use of the funds raised already.

There are no more PTA events planned until after Christmas, but there are still tea towels to buy, and you can support the school by doing your shopping via Easy Fundraising.

The next PTA meeting is the AGM on 22nd January. We will be electing the committee, reviewing the successes of the previous year and planning for the year ahead. Please come if you can!

The Ysgol Bodfeurig lottery has arrived!

This is your chance to support the school without leaving the comfort of your sofa, and be in on the chance of winning two cash prizes (one worth £25000…EVERY WEEK)! Tickets cost just £1 a week, buy as many as you can, the more tickets we sell, the higher the prize and more money to support the school! The first draw will be on the 9th of November, that’s 5 weeks to get as many supporters as possible. Share with your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours! PTA Meeting

The next Parent Teachers Association meeting is taking place at the end of this month. Our first meeting as an officially registered charity. Everybody welcome. Come along to support the school’s fundraising. We have a high target to aim for this year and we need all your help.

We are now a charity!

Ysgol Bodfeurig PTA has registered as a charity with HMRC. This will really help with fundraising as it makes us eligible for more grants and means we can claim gift aid on personal donations, and sponsored events!

How gift aid works: For every £1 donated we can claim an extra 25p back from HMRC. If you would like us to claim gift aid on a donation, you will need to fill in a gift aid declaration – these are available on the Downloads page, or contact for more info.
